To Earthdance είναι αφιερωμένο στο να μεγαλώσει ένα παγκόσμιο δίκτυο
διοργανωτών event και κοινωνικών ομάδων που ενώνονται παγκοσμίως και
δρουν τοπικά για να εφαρμόσουν πραγματικές λύσεις για την ειρήνη, τη
βιωσιμότητα και την κοινωνική δικαιοσύνη.
Η Ιστορία του Eartdance Global Peace Party
To Earthdance ιδρύθηκε το 1997 με όραμα να ενώσει τις κοινότητες σε όλο
τον κόσμο για την προώθηση της ειρήνης, της βιωσιμότητας και της
κοινωνικής δικαιοσύνης μέσω της παγκόσμιας πλατφόρμας της μουσικής και
του χορού. To Earthdance έχει γίνει η μεγαλύτερη παγκόσμια συγχρονισμένη
μουσική εκδήλωση για την ειρήνη στον κόσμο. Το Earthdance έχει
πραγματοποιηθεί σε περισσότερες από 500 τοποθεσίες σε 80 χώρες. Κάθε
επίσημη εκδήλωση Earthdance δεσμεύεται να δωρίσει το 50% των κερδών της
σε μια τοπική φιλανθρωπική οργάνωση για την αντιμετώπιση, την ειρήνη, τη
βιωσιμότητα, ή την κοινωνική δικαιοσύνη.

Το αποκορύφωμα του ετήσιου Φεστιβάλ Earthdance είναι μια ταυτόχρονη
σύνδεση μέχρι, όπου σε όλο τον κόσμο παίζει η προσευχή για την ειρήνη
κατά την ίδια στιγμή - το πρωί στο αυστραλιανό τροπικό δάσος, το
απόγευμα στην Καλιφόρνια, μεσάνυχτα στο Λονδίνο, και ανατολή του ηλίου
πάνω τα Ιμαλάια - η Προσευχή για την Ειρήνη είναι μια βαθιά και ισχυρή

Έτος της Γυναίκας
Απευθυνόμενα στο θέμα της φετινής χρονιάς, όλα τα event Earthdance θα
επικεντρωθούν στις οργανώσεις που εργάζονται για την προώθηση της
ισότητας των φύλων και της χειραφέτησης των γυναικών, ενώ παράλληλα
ενισχύουν την ειρήνη και την αρμονία μεταξύ τους και της Γαίας, της
Μητέρας όλων μας.
Το Earthdance πιστεύει ότι η αύξηση της
πρόσβασης των γυναικών στην ποιοτική εκπαίδευση και την απασχόληση είναι
ζωτικής σημασίας για τη βιώσιμη ανάπτυξη και την εξέλιξη της
ανθρωπότητας στον 21ο αιώνα και μετέπειτα.
* Οι γυναίκες αντιπροσωπεύουν τα δύο τρίτα των 1,4 δισεκατομμυρίων ανθρώπων που ζουν σήμερα σε συνθήκες ακραίας φτώχειας.
* Οι γυναίκες αποτελούν το 64% των 774 εκατομμύρια αναλφάβητους
ενήλικες στον κόσμο. Σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο, το 77% των γυναικών είναι
μορφωμένες, σε σύγκριση με 87% των ανδρών.
* Το 70% των φτωχών
του κόσμου είναι γυναίκες, οι γυναίκες κερδίζουν λιγότερα από το 10% των
μισθών στον κόσμο - αλλά οι γυναίκες κάνουν περισσότερο από τα δύο
τρίτα της εργασίας στον κόσμο.
* Κατά μέσο όρο οι γυναίκες
επανεπενδύσουν το 90% του εισοδήματός τους στις οικογένειές τους, ενώ οι
άνδρες επενδύουν μόνο 30-40%.

Earthdance is
dedicated to growing an international network of event producers and
communities that connect globally and act locally to implement real
solutions for peace, sustainability, and social justice.
EARTHDANCE HISTORY
Earthdance was founded in 1997 with a vision to unite communities
worldwide in promoting peace, sustainability and social justice through
the universal platform of music and dance. Based on its global reach and
diverse range of attendees, Earthdance has grown to become the largest
global synchronized music and peace event in the world. Since the first
multi-location event in 1997 with 22 cities in 18 countries, Earthdance
has been held in over 500 locations in 80 countries. Each official
Earthdance event commits to donate 50% of its profits to a local charity
addressing, peace, sustainability, or social justice.
Year of the Woman
Addressing this year's theme, all Earthdance events will focus on
causes that work to promote gender equality and empower women, while
fostering peace and harmony with each other and our Mother Gaia.
Earthdance believes that increasing women's access to quality education,
meaningful employment, land and other resources is vital to the
sustainable development and evolution of humanity in the 21st century
and beyond
